Revised Underframe
By adopting
features such as a closed-section
structure for the
side sills and high-tensile steel
for the
underframe. We saved weight while
significantly
increasing strength. Since deformation
is suppressed in
the event of a collision, occupants
can be rescued
more easily. Also, the front of the
underframe (the
item that links the cab to the
chassis frame)
has a closed-section structure in the
side-to-side
direction for ample durability and to
promote cab
rigidity.
Stronger Waist
Reinforcements
Reinforcements
are incorporated into the doors at
waist height.
They suppress cab deformation to the
cab from a
frontal-diagonal direction. They provide
the same kind of
sunctionality as the previously used
door beams but
weigh less.
